Body in balance.

I worked in non-profit and social work for over a decade, mostly with youth, and mostly in group settings. I loved it, but it was chaotic. I knew my career there had a shelf-life due to how much it took out of me. I deeply desired a path that would enable me to continue to help people, but fill me up rather than deplete me. I have found that path with energy and body work. I started practicing Reiki in 2009, and loved working with my clients so much that the natural progression was to head to massage therapy school. I graduated from Cumberland Institute in Brentwood, Tennessee, in 2016. During my time there, I gave birth to my first child, and realized that working with pregnant clients would become a huge passion of mine.

My approach to bodywork is holistic, which, to me, means that developing a relationship with one's body is essential to true health and healing. I see the most physical progress in my clients when the mind-body connection is emphasized. My goal is to provide a safe space for my clients to relax, have pain and discomfort alleviated, and have balance restored to both body and mind.

During my first pregnancy, massage not only saved me from intense hip pain, but also helped me connect with my body and all of the changes I was going through, physical and otherwise. I absolutely love working with pregnant women, it brings me so much joy to help others in the ways I was helped. My practice is not limited to prenatal work, however; my clients are diverse in gender, age, lifestyle, and body type. I also work with many trauma survivors, and believe wholeheartedly that bodywork can function beautifully in conjunction with other medical care to heal stress responses.

When I'm not working with clients, I love spending time with my husband Steve and children Emily (almost 3) and Franklin (8 months). We love Shelby Park, the Downtown Library, and dorky video games. I also am finishing up a yoga teacher training, and my husband and I run the Grillshack, a tiny carryout restaurant in our neighborhood, East Nashville.
